Healthy living is important. We all know this as we have advertisements and pleas thrown our way every day. The options for diets and healthy living are numerous. The problem is that not all of these diets or programs work for everyone. Instead of following a harsh diet, we have decided to list a few healthy foods that you can add to your diet. Maybe replace some of the bad stuff with these and you will feel the difference in energy and maybe drop a few pounds.
Avocado. This is very good for the skin, hair, and nails. It hydrates, reduces redness, and helps prevent sun damage.
Chia seeds. These seeds are good for digestion. They provide the body with a third of the necessary daily fiber needs.
Garlic. Garlic is one of the earth’s most valuable products. It has a multitude of uses from fighting illness to keeping insects away. It has anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties. It is a must-have in your kitchen.
Live yogurt. Some diets and dieticians suggest avoiding dairy. This is not necessarily the right route. Live yogurt has a lot of good bacteria for gut health. It is also a better option than milk.
Citrus. Citrus fruits such as oranges and grapefruits are high in vitamin C and very good for the body. Vitamin C helps the body fight colds and flu.
Buckwheat. Anyone who has a wheat or gluten intolerance will want to try buckwheat. The name is misleading as it does not contain any gluten or wheat. It is a great replacement for high fiber wheat products.
Broccoli. This vegetable is high in Vitamin C, Vitamin K, potassium, and folate. It helps to prevent getting sick and also plays a role in preventing cancer.
Sauerkraut. Another digestion-friendly food is sauerkraut. This is basically fermented cabbage. Fermented foods carry probiotics that are very good for the body.
Cinnamon. Cinnamon can help with weight loss as a substitute for sugar and sweeteners. Use it in breakfast foods and baked goods to cut out the sugar.
Try to supplement your diet with these foods or replace some less good items with these healthy options. You will feel the difference.
